A Berea, KY Southern Baptist Church
Faith Decision Missionary Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church, and a member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Tates Creek Association of Southern Baptist Churches. As such, we stand upon the Holy Bible as the Word of God, and the Baptist Faith and Message. Faith Decision Missionary Baptist Church is a prayer-centered church, where the Bible is preached and taught in every class and as a central part of each worship service.
Mission-minded Focus
Faith Decision Missionary Baptist Church is mission-minded. We have multiple regular ministries currently occurring, including at both of Berea’s Nursing homes. Many church members are involved in missions within the local community, and we support Tates Creek Association’s missions’ partnerships. We have also supported missionaries to Poland and Haiti in the past few years.
Our Worship Times
Our Sundays begin at 9:45 with Sunday school for all ages, followed by a morning worship service at 11:00 that blends contemporary praise music and traditional hymns. The centerpiece of each worship gathering is the message, and Faith Decision Missionary Baptist Church takes pride in being a place where the Bible is always preached.
On Sunday nights, our church holds Sunday evening worship in the Sanctuary at 6:00pm.
On Wednesdays at 7:00, children participate in AWANA, learning about missions, studying the Bible, and playing all kinds of fun, interactive games. At the same time, adults have their own Bible study in the Sanctuary and the church’s Youth Group meets upstairs.
What to Expect
Faith Decision Baptist Church is located in Paint Lick, KY, just outside of Berea, one of the prettiest, most vibrant towns in all of Kentucky. There truly is something for everyone here. Every visitor knows us to be a welcoming, loving body of believers. Every member knows that the building is a place that feels like home and our brothers and sisters in Christ truly do feel like family. We invite you to come see what that feels like. Come worship with us.
A typical Sunday morning service begins with a time of worshiping in song. Many could say that this is time of corporate worship, but at FDMBC we believe that everything we do when we gather as the body of Christ is worship. Our worship includes prayer, the public and reverent reading of Scripture, fellowship, celebration and observance of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. When we worship by singing, you will notice that we employ both traditional hymns and praise and worship songs. We have a choir that often ministers to us through song in congregational worship and we observe the Lord’s Supper every fifth Sunday.
Following our time of singing, the rest of the service is devoted to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. As a church, we listen and respond to the explanation and relevant application of Holy Scripture from the King James Version of the Bible. Before the sermon is delivered, we also have a Children’s Message, where children are invited to sit at the front of the church and hear a brief lesson from His word. Then children are excused to a time of interactive learning upstairs in Children’s Church.
At the end of our time together, we have a time of invitation where people are invited by the pastor to spend time praying or being prayed for. This is our time of response to the Lord in gratitude or repentance for all he has done through the preaching of the word.
